Pressure Systems Safety Regulations Examination

The Pressure Systems Safety Regulations require a written scheme of examination (WSE) is completed on all steam equipment and for most pressure systems.

Our qualified and competent examiners will visit your site to:

  • Identify assets that come under the PSSR.
  • Produce a Written Scheme.
  • Detailed asset examination and test.
  • Product a written report in accordance the PSSR.

Prior to issue, all reports are audited by an Incorporated or Chartered Engineering in accordance with the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 (PSSR).

What equipment comes under the PSSR?

It is a legal requirement to have a Written Scheme of Examination (WSE) carried out by a competent person on the following:

  • All steam equipment.
  • Equipment containing a relevant fluid of more than 250 bar/litres (pressure x volume = bar/litres).

Example of such equipment include:

  • Compressors.
  • Barista style coffee machines.
  • Autoclaves.
  • Accumulators.
  • Air-receivers.
